Men as Physical Beings
I Tim. 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. Some of us take it to far and sport ourselves out like some Adonis, or the pendulum swings the other way and we revel in being couch potatoes.
As we get older we seem to accumulate various daily medications, and due to our secret emotional struggles we often acquire medications relating to this.
Pharmaceuticals: 21st Century Sorcery
Rev. 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
The word “Sorceries” in the Greek is the word “Pharmacia”, the word from where we get the word Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals. In other words, DRUGS.
“…for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”
Deceived by DRUGS. Not just hallucinogenic street or cultic religious drugs, but “Pharmacia”, PHARMACEUTICALS DRUGS!
Mind altering pharmaceuticals are like the oil industry, or the porn industry; It’s all about power, money and control.
In these economic times who’s not going under, whose actually making record profits!? The industries just mentioned above: Oil, Porn and Pharmaceuticals!
The “merchants” the “great men” of the world are not only falling by cocaine, heroine addictions, but also dependency on prescription drugs, drugs that suppose to help, drugs like Cymbalta, Zoloft, Lexapro, just to name a few. And the odd thing is that the side effects and potential side effects are often worse than the affliction itself! Even on these drugs it is believed it drove some people, teenagers in particular, to suicide anyhow!
Why do I say these things? Because they are drugs that control your mind. They control and suppose to regulate and balance the chemicals within ones brains so one will no fall into depression or dark suicidal thoughts.
How do I know? Because I was on them before and many people I know have been to. One friend told me that they made him calm on the outside but inside he wanted to jump out of his skin or kill someone. Another told me that it put them in a euphoric state where everything was okay and this man had no drive, procrastinated and therefore got nothing done. With me, I lost the ability to feel, to feel real feelings and to feel them deeply. I lost my connection and intimacy with G-d because these drugs got in the way of my spiritual perception.
Some religions use known mind altering drugs to open a portal to the spirit realm, so communicate with entities. So who’s not to say that these legal pharmaceutical drugs are do doing the same thing minus the weird visionary drugs trips that come with such religious drugs as marijuana and peyote?
I even had sexual side effects and for a man, when he has sex he gets in touch with his feelings and it creates the ability to love and reconnect with ones spouse (See: Mars and Venus in the Bedroom), contrary to public worldly opinion who says guys just want sex to “get some”. No, this is not the way it is for TRUE men.
When I was taking these drugs I was not me, I couldn’t “feel” and I didn’t like it. I would much rather feel despair and feel such intensely and know they were MY feelings, not a drug induced feeling. I have come to the conclusion that this is my lot in life as it has been for many religious leaders, especially the Prophets.
“My mind has reflected on those who are creative and has amazing abilities, such as savants and autistic people who can play piano without ever taking a lesson, or who can memorize tons of stats, or can do complex math off the cuff. I think of Picasso who severed his ear and gave it to a woman, now you can’t tell me he wasn’t mentally touched! I think of comedians who go on record as battling depression, actors and Musicians who had mental breakdowns or have even committed suicide: Brittney Spears, Kurt Koban and Courtney Love, Michael Richards (Kramer of Seinfeld) who wigged out with racial slurs during a stand up gig and hasn’t been the same since. Richard Jeni, a stand up comedian who committed suicide, Owen Wilson who attempted suicide… Anna Nichole Smith, who will argue that she wasn’t mentally ill? Linda Hamilton went on Oprah and admitted her struggle with mental illness. It tells me that Creative individuals are more susceptible to mental illness and addictions. The same can be said of certain leaders whether religious or political: Jim Jones, Hitler, Charles Manson, Sadaam Hussain, Nebuchadnezzar, Nero, Kim Jong Il, The Heavens Gate cult leader Applegate, and I can go on and on.
Has anyone read the Prophets lately? Jeremiah some may say had chronic depression. Solomon if you read Ecclesiastes and His father David dealt with depression and David even faked mental illness to elude capture.
Creative and gifted people tend to feel alone and isolated, as if they were aliens from another planet, they feel persecuted and misunderstood. How do I know? This is how I and other creative friends of mine have voiced as feeling.” “Creativity and Insanity” By Rabbi Yehudah ben Shomeyr
As a result I am now seeking a more holistic approach to dealing with and controlling my feelings and emotions and my bouts with depression, such as a healthy diet, exercise, meditation and relaxation therapy. These are natural ways ands G-d given ways to deal with these issues.
Now please, don’t get misunderstand me. I am not T-Totally against pharmaceutical drugs; only those that deals with the mind. For many drugs are derived from nature; for instance, aspirin comes from tree bark. But if one can get a natural remedy as opposed to a man made fabricated one; go the natural route. For I realize many pharmaceuticals are little miracles, helping with life threatening bodily functions such as blood sugar, breathing and the like and they have nothing to do with the mind or the brain. But it is best to find a natural remedy if possible, for one day when world systems collapse one will not be able to obtain these life saving drugs and will be forced to go back to homeopathic remedies of the days of our great grandparents.
Taking a Shot at Shots
Now I am in no wise one of those, “no needles or blood transfusions” type of religious people; if it is needful and necessary to saving a life I’m all for it. But also I am not willing to inject myself with just anything just because and especially because the government says I need to. In the Talmud and the Perkei Avot it warns us that the government is only out for their own interests and not to get to friendly with them (1:10). Nor am I against Doctors, the Talmud tells us we are not permitted to stay in a town tat doesn’t have one.
Am I a conspiracy theorist? No, I consider myself a conspiracy realist. In other words I do not believe all the conspiracies floating around, but at the same time it would surprise me if any one of them were true, because I know how evil the heart of men can be and that absolute power corrupts absolutely and those who fail to remember and learn from history is doomed to repeat it. And as far as the New World Order is concerned one of the priorities is population control. Because even the government knows the true power lies with the people. Make the people afraid and you can control the people.
The government cries, “Terrorism!” The people say, “We will give up some of our freedoms in place of security.”
1Thess. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
There is a commercial in Maine advertising to parents concerning getting their babies vaccinated and it drives me nuts. It starts out with a new mother torn on what to do about Immunizations and then their friends tells them that a certain website that give them all the latest “facts” which convinces them giving your baby a series of shots is the right thing to do. I roll my eyes and shake my head every time I see it.
The government cries, “Death and Disease.” The people cry, “Inoculate us! Save us!”
Rev. 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
The word ‘sorceries” in the Greek word ‘pharmacia’ and it is the same word where we get in English, Pharmaceuticals. The world will be and is being deceived by the multi-million dollar industry of pharmaceutical drugs. I don’t think ALL drugs are bad, but with many the side effects are just as bad or even worse that what it is trying to fight. If at all possible I prefer a more holistic health care regiment with proper herbs and such as prescribed by a well trained herbologist. And have you noticed the government’s campaign attacks upon these natural herbs and foods calling them voodoo or quackery!? How can what G-d made be voodoo. Didn’t HE say he gave it to us for our good? It’s only those that mix and match and don’t know what their doing that give natural remedies a bad rap.
Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.
Rev. 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.
There is also good old fashioned peer pressure too if the government can’t convince you to get inoculated. You are considered ignorant or a bad parent for not getting your child immunized.
G-d says we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psa. 139:14). And despite living in a fallen world were death and disease roam free HE made us with a fantastic immune system when left on its own and when being powered by the right foods, especially raw fruits and vegetables it can conquer almost anything; in the right circumstances even cancer! Our bodies rarely need assistance; we especially do not need to inject ourselves with diseases, foreign bodies and un-kosher things to “improve” our immune system to help it along.
He said if we follow the Torah He would put none of the diseases that He allowed to come upon the Egyptians (Ex. 15:26). Autopsies have been preformed on many Egyptian mummies, and out of all the mummies autopsied most died of one of three diseases, and these are the same top three Americans die of today. These diseases are a direct result of not keeping a kosher diet. They are:
2. Heart disease
He said He is the G-d who heals us (Psa. 103:3-5). He said that through Messiah’s sufferings we are healed (Isa. 53).
And if we do get sick all we have to do most of the time is eat right and get plenty of rest and our bodies take care of themselves.
You have heard it said that as a rule of thumb you only get chicken pox once. That is because after your body fights it off your body has built up a resistance to the bug so when it comes around again you are immune and won’t get it. I realize there are rare exceptions to the rule. My mom had the chicken pox three times, but with each time it was a weaker version of it.
Doctors are giving shots to protect children from minor diseases and nonexistent or extremely rare diseases at too early of an age, before their immune system is fully developed therefore compromising their natural immune system. It is also shown that this now compromised immune system is more susceptible to worse kinds of things later in life like cancer and leukemia. Are we trading measles for such diseases that bring a chill of fear when even the word is uttered?
Statistics show that diseases which were considered epidemics back in the day, like small pox, measles, whooping cough and such were already on the decline before a vaccine campaign could be organized. It seems that many diseases ran a natural cycle through out the world and most people adapted on their own.
It has also been shown that those who were vaccinated and those who were not were just as likely to contract whatever was going around.
Aboriginals and Native tribes of 3rd world countries or of the bush have had doctors come in and immunize their children and as a result death rates have never been higher among them.
Things like Polio have pretty much been wiped out and that new cases actually come from the oral vaccine that is administered today for protection against the disease!
Now I’m sure you can find stats that back up vaccines, but realize that by law doctors are suppose to report deaths caused by the vaccine and have not been doing so. These immunizations have some serious side effects that can cause anything from brain damage to death! These side effects are suppose to be very rare and are not, so as not to point the finger at the vaccines they blame the cause of death as SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) or cot death. Why? Because, there’s money to be lost and had in the inoculation business. Doctors can’t afford to bash the medical establishment or admit that what they do does not work.
Consider yourself lucky (we do, for we found out this information to late to act upon it for ourselves) if you and or your child have been immunized and have not suffered anything extreme, but don’t think you’re in the clear for our compromised immune system still my encounter things such as heart disease, cancer, leukemia and the like.
Put nothing passed the fallen heart of mankind.

Phil. 3:19 Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.) Despite knowing better we struggle with what we eat.
The Root of Kashrut
I Timothy 4:4-5 creates a problem for most readers. We must remember when reading the Renewed Covenant that it was written under the assumption that the reader knew the basics of Torah. So when Rav Sha’ul says “every creature,” he being a Torah observant Jew, a Pharisee no less, wouldn’t even remotely think of creatures outside of the ones approved by YHWH in Leviticus 11. Verse 43 says that if you eat anything not designated as a food source that you become an abomination to YHWH if you eat it! Every animal has its purpose in creation. Some are scavengers, YHWH’s garbage collectors (Carnivores and Omnivores), and theses are the types we are forbidden to eat, and rightly so. For example, pigs do not have sweat glands, this is why it wallows in mud to keep cool. Since they don’t have sweat glands, they can’t rid their body of toxins like we can, so the toxins stay in their meat, and we consume that if we eat pork! Also, shrimp is the sea equivalent to the cockroach, and the crab is the sea equivalent to spiders. I saw a documentary about some primitive tribal natives in some far off jungle where the narrator tried fried tarantulas, and he said it tastes like crab. Verse 5 of I Timothy chapter 4 does NOT mean that if you pray or bless unclean food that Elohim will “magically” take the impurities away. The physical consequences of disobeying Torah still stand. Exodus 15:26 says that if Israel keeps Torah, Elohim will not allow the diseases of the Egyptians to come upon them. Autopsies have been preformed on many Egyptian mummies, and out of all the mummies autopsied most died of one of three diseases, and these are the same top three Americans die of today. These diseases are a direct result of not keeping a kosher diet. They are:
5. Heart disease
Verse 3 of I Timothy 4, gives us a little context. Some were abstaining from meat altogether and becoming vegetarians for fear of not personally knowing the source of the meat, Jew or Pagan. If the meat was served by a Jew, whether it was originally bought or received from a pagan, the buyer would know if it was kosherly slaughtered or not. If kosher and blessed, it’s “set apart” and dedicated to Elohim, and made holy, regardless if it was offered to an idol or not. Many people say that Yeshua Himself declared “all things clean”. (Mk. 7:19) That phrase in the KJV is italicized which means the translators added it for confusion… I mean clarification. So, those are not Yahshua’s words, nor his intent. Nor was Kefa (Peter’s) vision in Acts 10 permission from Elohim to disregard the dietary laws of Lev. 11. Kefa even admitted the vision concerned the inclusion of Gentiles into faith in Yahshua HaMashiach. (Acts 10-11)
The only conceivable reason why YHWH would change the dietary laws is that He is a liar and does change, contrary to Scripture, and that He no longer loves and cares about us.
It is so sad that people are so attached to such a thing as types of “food,” that they can’t give up something so insignificant in light of HaShem’s direct and loving commands. Besides, today there are enough substitutes that one shouldn’t even miss, or make not having certain “foods” easier to deal with. For example they have Turkey Bacon, Lamb and Veggie sausage, Veggie burgers, imitation crab made from fish, etc. But Rav Sha’ul said in Philippians 3:19 (CJB), “They are headed for destruction! Their god is the belly; they are proud of what they ought to be ashamed of, since they are concerned about things of the world.”
Our bodies are considered the Temple of Elohim. We do not want to put anything in it that will defile it. We Jews believe Elohim has given us the divine responsibility to do all to His glory. When we eat, we elevate everything we consume to a holy status. Because it is put in the Temple of Elohim and used to do His will, fulfilling commandments, doing His Torah!
Halacha Concerning Kashrut
Leviticus 11 tells us what is kosher (fit and proper) to eat and what is not. In Messianic and Netzarim movements there have been arguments regarding Rabbinic kosher verses Biblical Kosher. I am here to set the record straight where I stand on this issue.
I will not discuss what is kosher to consume and what is not, that has clearly been defined and established in the Torah itself. However what I will discuss is what deems a kosher animal kosher for consumption. Especially if you do not live in a Jewish community where kosher goods are easy to come by.
I have seen disturbing undercover footage of improper slaughtering techniques in supposed “kosher” slaughter houses. I have seen cows throats pulled out of their neck and left to kick and fearfully writhe on the floor. The point of slitting the animal’s throat from ear to ear is to:
1. Allow the animal to die in as a painless manner as possible. When the throat is slit in one smooth continuous line from ear to ear with the sharpest blade possible the animal feels minimal pain and the rush of blood is so great and fast that the animal literally passes out, as if drifting off to sleep.
2. Drain as much blood from the animals body as possible so when consumed we will not violate the commandment of consuming blood (Gen. 9:4, Lev. 17:14).
I have heard disturbing stories of Shochets (and ordained kosher butcher) whose pockets are lined with green backs pulling up in a field of cattle laying his hand on one cow and slaughter it and that act suffices for the entire herd; which means that owners can slaughter them in any way they see fit.
This is why some believing Jews had become vegetarians because they couldn’t be assured of how the animal was slaughtered (Rom. 14). Some may be able to hack vegetarianism, but I can not to the fullest degree. I do not live in a Jewish community so I cannot guarantee my meat was properly slaughtered. But I do live in a community where many people slaughter their own cattle and they do it without really knowing it the proper way. By slitting the throat, hanging it upside down and allowing all the blood to drain out of it. Most big time Gentile slaughter houses run the cattle through a series of conveyer belts where the cow is shot in the head by a bolt, left to die on the floor so the blood has time to settle and congeal in the meat before it is chopped up.
I mostly stick with chicken or fish, because Gentiles slaughter fish and chicken pretty much the same way as us Jews do. But I stay away from beef unless I know where it comes from and can reasonably know it was slaughtered properly. Nonetheless I try to salt and soak the beef overnight so as to draw out any remaining blood in the meat. If I have been lied too or what have you in this respect, then the sin be upon the one who lied to me.
In regards to meat and dairy I have no problem mixing milk with meat. The verse in question that is used to base the Orthodox prohibition of mixing milk and meat together is found in (Exd. 23:19, 34:26, Deut. 14:21) and it is not grouped in with other kosher laws. This is contextually and historically speaking of literally boiling a kid in its mother’s milk, which was a pagan ritual of that time to ensure successful cattle and crops. G-d deems this cruel and prohibits us from doing it. In Gen.18:8 we see Avraham offers G-d and the angelic visitors milk and meat together and they have no scruples about taking it. If there was problem with it, it would have been a good time for G-d to correct Avraham in this area of Torah observance. For all Jews believe the Torah is eternal and was orally passed down until it was “set in stone” if you will at Sinai. Now if some one wants to observe this tradition I have no problem with it and I applaud them. For in truth there are good spiritual lessons and physical health benefits that can be derived from this practice. But I will not be dogmatic on this tradition or expect anyone to be with me concerning it. So yes, I believe is such a thing as a kosher cheese burger, I’ll take that with turkey bacon by the way!
It is a good practice that no matter what appropriate meats you consume to soak them in salt over night to assure the maximum amount of blood is removed.
If you are able and want to keep Rabbinically kosher, I have no problem with that, but realize that you are keeping Scripturally kosher, but in addition taking upon mans interpretations and extra rules regarding a kosher diet and not to impose your choice upon others who cannot for various reason keep kosher to the standards that you choose to.
Matt. 23:1-4 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples. Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, [that] observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay [them] on men's shoulders; but they [themselves] will not move them with one of their fingers.
In the document called “The Didache” supposedly written by the Nazarene Sanhedrin to the establish halacha said this in chapter six verse three, I believes speaks of regarding keeping Rabbinically Kosher:
“Concerning food, bear what you can. But especially abstain from food sacrificed to idols; this is a ministry to dead gods.”
Another quick word about the Sabbath and a kosher diet.
It has been asked, if I was on a deserted island and all there was to eat was wild boar, would I do it? My answer is, No, first I would see what was keeping the boar alive!
But it is true in a life or death situation (according to the Rabbi’s and Sages of blessed memory, peace be upon them), we are permitted to eat unkosher foods to sustain live, even if it is on Yom Kippur! The main rule of thumb is life over law. You must live in order to keep the commandments. So sustaining life is of the utmost importance. Same principle if I was forced to clear debris after a disaster on Shabbat, it would be a sin NOT to work in this manner on Shabbat. Life over Law.
But in all honesty many of us will never be put in a circumstance such as these, but if we are we now what to do.
As men, we need to realize we are more than our occupation and that we have a life and identity outside of work.
When the Working Day is Done.
Sadly I see men throw their years and strength into lining another mans pockets and collecting only a meager fortune that is all to quickly spent, barely enough to plant him in the ground when life here is over only to have, “He was a mighty worker” as his epitaph.
Working 12 hour days forgoing family and pleasure only to loose ones strength and vigor prematurely and sit with nothing to do, feeling useless and in the way when ones youth is spent.
Even when one is “retired” I see the deaf, blind and disabled building birdhouses or doll cribs so as to feel useful.
I see an old mans life consist of looking longingly at working men in their prime, eating, sleeping, idle gossip or reminiscing of things they can no longer do. In case such as these, so goes the body, so goes the brain. Senility slowly boils the frog obliviously.
This is a life wasted, for not many will remember a legacy of work two generations past. Kings have tried and failed only to have their work obliterated or left in ruins. Only ones words and wisdom will live on outside of himself and in others after he is gone. This can only be achieved by making study of Torah as much as a priority in youth as work and amassing temporal goods. For if ones lives in this manner one can occupy the remainder of his days with enjoying the sheer joys of intimacy with the Torah; what a retirement! And when the working days are done he can serve others in a more noble, generous and unforgettable way by advising others in the Truth, wisdom and way of Torah.
Even in senility, for I am reminded of story of two men; one a “mighty worker” and one a minister. Both lost their mind and both ended up in the same nursing home to spend the remainder of their days. The working man walked the halls ranting, raving cursing as if on a job site and no one wanted to be around him. The minister on the other hand walked the halls quoting scripture, reliving old sermons and he was a joy for the nurses and staff to care for and all the residents loved his company and were edified by his words even though no one could hold a coherent conversation with him.
A great mind moreso than a great worker is more likely to be cared for if one lives to greet the ambassador of death, senility.
