Three Questions All Muslims Ask

1.     Has the Bible been changed?

No, the Bible has not been changed. Why? Because the Koran says so.

God’s Words and the Bible cannot be changed:

Those who believe,
And those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures),
And the Christians and the Sabians,--
Any who believe in God
And the Last Day,
And work righteousness,
Shall have their reward With their Lord: on them
Shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. – Sura 2:62

For them are Glad Tidings,
In the life of the Present
And in the Hereafter:
No change can there be
In the Words of God.
This is indeed
The supreme Felicity. – Sura 10:64

(Such was) the practice
(Approved) of God among those
Who lived aforetime:
No change wilt thou find
In the practice (approved)
Of God. – Sura 33:62

On account of their arrogance
In the land and their
Plotting of Evil.
But the plotting of Evil
Will hem in only
The authors thereof. Now
Are they but looking for
The way the ancients
Were dealt with? But
No change wilt thou find
In God's way:
No turning off wilt thou
Find in God's way. – Sura 35:43

A confirmation of (revelations)
That went before it,
And a fuller explanation
Of the Book—wherein
There is no doubt
From the Lord of the Worlds.

If thou wert in doubt
As to what We have revealed
Unto thee, then ask those
Who have been reading
The Book from before thee:
The Truth hath indeed come
To thee from thy Lord:
So be in no wise
Of those in doubt. – Sura 10:37b. 94

O ye People of the Book (Bible)!
Believe in what We
Have (now) revealed, confirming
What was (already) with you,
Before We change the face and fame
Of some (of you) beyond all recognition,
And turn them hindwards,
Or curse them as We cursed
The Sabbath-breakers,
For the decision of God
Must be carried out. – Sura 4:47

The Torah (Law of Moses), The Psalms and the Gospels have not changed:

But why do they come
To thee for decision,
When they have
Law before them?
Therein is the
Command of God; yet
Even after that, they would
Turn away. For they
Are not
People of Faith.

It was We who revealed
The Law (to Moses): therein
Was guidance and light.'
By its standard have been judged
The Jews, by the Prophets
Who bowed
To God's Will, by the Rabbis
And the Doctors of Law: For to them was entrusted
The protection of God's Book (Bible),
And they were witnesses thereto:
Therefore fear not men,
But fear Me, and sell not
My Signs for a miserable price.
If any do fail to judge
By what God
Hath revealed, they are Unbelievers.

And in their footsteps
We sent Jesus the son Of Mary, confirming
The Law that had come
Before him: We sent him
The Gospel: therein
Was guidance and light,
And confirmation of the Law
That had come before him:
A guidance and an admonition
To those who fear God. – Sura 5:43, 44, 46

Before this We wrote
In the Psalms, after the Message
(Given to Moses): "My servants,
The righteous, shall inherit
The earth." – Sura 21:105

It is He Who sent down
To thee (step by step),
In truth, the Book (Bible),
Confirming what went before it;
And He sent down the Law
(Of Moses) and the Gospel
(Of Jesus) before this,
As a guide to mankind,
And He sent down the Criterion
(Of judgment between right and wrong). – Sura 3:2

The Prophets have not changed:

When it is said to them,
"Believe in what God
Hath sent down," they say,
"We believe in what was sent down
To us": yet they reject
All besides, even if it be Truth
Confirming what is with them.
Say: "Why then have ye slain
The prophets of God in times
Gone by, if ye did indeed
Believe?" – Sura :91

The Torah says so and the Gospels of Yeshua (Jesus) says so and the Psalms of David says so.

David speaking regarding the Torah (Law of Moses):

Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. – Psalm 119:89

Yeshua speaking regarding the Torah (The Law of Moses):

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. – Luke 16:17

Yeshua (Jesus) speaking of the Law, and the Prophets (Tanak, Old Testament):

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. – Matt. 5:17-10

Apostle Paul (Rav Sha’ul) commenting on the Tanak (Old Testament):

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. – II Tim. 3:16-17

Kefa (Peter) speaking of the Writings of the Prophets:

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. – II Peter 1:21

If God does not and cannot change, neither can His Word:

God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. – Num. 23:19

God, who does not lie, - Titus 1:2

The Tanak (Old Testament) since the beginning has been painstaking copied letter for letter by the Jews and if any mistakes are made they throw it out and start all over again. So it is impossible for the Tanak (Old Testament) to have been changed or corrupted.

2.     Why Does the Bible Say Yeshua (Jesus) is the Son of God?

The Koran says:

Say: He is God,
The One and Only;

God, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not,
Nor is He begotten;

And there is none
Like unto Him. – Sura 112:1-4

O People of the Book!
Commit no excesses
In your religion: nor say
Of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary
Was An apostle of God,
And His Word,
Which He bestowed on Mary,
And a Spirit proceeding
From Him: so believe
In God and His apostles.
Say not "Trinity": desist:
It will be better for you:
For God is One God:
Glory be to Him:
(Far Exalted is He) above
Having a son, To Him
Belong all things in the heavens
And on earth. And enough
Is God as a Disposer of affairs. – Sura 4:171

We took the Covenant
Of the Children of Israel
And sent them apostles.
Every time there came
To them an apostle
With what they themselves
Desired not—some
(Of these) they called Impostors, and some they
(Go so far as to) slay.

They thought there would be
No trial (or punishment);
So they became blind and deaf;
Yet God (in mercy) turned
To them; yet again many
Of them became blind and deaf.
But God sees well
All that they do.

They do blaspheme who say:
"God is Christ the son
Of Mary" But said Christ:
"O Children of Israel!
Worship God, my Lord
And your Lord." Whoever
Joins other gods with God,--
God will forbid him
The Garden, and the Fire
Will be his abode. There will
For the wrong-doers
Be no one to help.

They do blaspheme who say:
God is one of three
In a Trinity: for there is
No god except One God.
If they desist not
From their word (of blasphemy),
Verily a grievous penalty
Will befall the blasphemers
Among them.

God will say: "This is
A day on which
The truthful will profit
From their truth: theirs
Are Gardens, with rivers
Flowing beneath,—their eternal
Home: God well-pleased
With them, and they with God:
That is the great Salvation,
(The fulfilment of all desires). – Sura 5:70-73, 119

To Him is due
The primal origin
Of the heavens and the earth:
How can He have a son
When He hath no consort?
He created all things,
And He hath full knowledge
Of all things. – Sura 6:101

It is not befitting
To (the majesty of) God
That He should beget
A son. Glory be to Him!
When He determines
A matter, He only says
To it, "Be", and it is. – Sura 19:35

We believe God is One:

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: - Deut. 6:4

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. – Deut. 32:39

Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. – Isa: 44:6

I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me… Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.- Isa. 45:5. 21

O Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. – I Chron. 17:20

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. – I Cor. 8:5-6

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. – Eph. 4:4-6

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. – Matt. 4:10

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: - Mark 12:29

Yeshua (Jesus) was not the Literal, but figurative Son of God, God did not have any impure relations with Mary. The Greek word used in the following passages is “Weos” meaning a figurative kinship and not a literal one. Unlike the Greek word “Teknon” which is used when referring to a sexually propagated son which is never used in reference to Yeshua (Jesus) and God.

Arabic has two similar words. Abnimala which is uswed the same way as Weos is, as a figurative kinship. Then there is the Arabic word Wadaala meaning the same thing as Teknon, a literal, sexually propagated son.

And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. – Matt. 3:17

The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, - Mark 1:1

Whenever the impure spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, "You are the Son of God." – Mark 3:11

The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. – Luke 1:35

Mary was a virgin and had no sexual relations with any man and the Spirit of God put Yeshua within her.

"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us"). – Matt. 1:23

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. – Luke 1:27-38

The Koran even supports the virgin birth of Yeshua (Jesus):

And Mary the daughter
Of ‘Imrān, who guarded
Her chastity; and We
Breathed into (her body)
Of Our spirit; and she
Testified to the truth
Of the words of her Lord
And of his Revelations,
And was one of the
Devout (servants). – Sura 66:12

3.     Why Does the Bible Say That Yeshua (Jesus) was Crucified?

Yeshua’s life was not taken He willing laid it down:

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. – John 10:18

The Crucifixion did not take Yeshua (Jesus) by surprise, it was prophesied to happen:

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. – Isa. 53:3-7

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures – I Cor. 15:3-4

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. – I Peter 1:10-11

It was all in God’s plan, it was meant to be:

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins…  From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. – Matt. 1:21, 16:21

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. – Mark 10:45
